Too funny to not be mentioned

First of all, I'd just like to give a huge thumbs up to TMnet for their Unifi Customer Service line. Or rather, the person who answered my complaint when I called in on Monday.

My Internet and phone line got cut off out of no where starting Sunday and I didn't get it back/fixed until today. But that's besides the point right now. The point of me mentioning this is to thank the guy who was on the other end of the line that day who was so incredibly patient and polite with me while trying to coach me on checking my router and modem. I say incredibly patient because my iPhone has been acting up recently (I suspect it's due to the multiple meetings my phone has had with the ground over the years. So much so that the bottom back shell of my phone is literally broken) so whenever anyone calls in or if I call out, the line would always break up causing me to miss out on what the other person is saying. Getting back to the point of this, our conversation went a lot like this:
TMnet Guy: Okay, you see the ...... light? Is it ...... colour?
Me: Sorry, what did you say?
TMnet Guy: Okay Miss, *starts to repeat again slowly*
-Few seconds later-
TMnet Guy: Okay Miss, do you see the .........?
Me: Sorry, what??
TMnet Guy: Do-you-see-the-blablablabla...
Never once did he sound exasperated and/or annoyed with me! Everyone knows if it were me, I'd have referred the call to a colleague or something. I know it's probably part of their job description to be polite and whatnot, so whatever kind of training these guys/girls are getting over there, keep up the good work!
Too bad I can't say the same about the response/technician team - they were two days slow.

And now I come to the subject of the title of this post. I've never been one to follow any Top Bloggers until recently cause Isabel and Yee Wen kept talking about them. I mean, it's not like I've never heard of them before, it's just that I've never bothered enough to read their blogs. So I just started reading XiaXue's blog and as open as she is, her blog posts are actually quite entertaining at times. Best post I've read so far has to be her latest post, "The Faces of Haters", where she literally shows you the faces of her haters. Lol!

So here's the gist of the story straight from the blogger's hands:
I've blogged for 10 years and I've covered the most controversial topics. But NOTHING, and I meanNOTHING, have gotten me as more hate as me supporting the PAP.
I also got some love for it of course, but usually mean comments die down after a few weeks... This lasted for a whole year, got me several hate sites and hate parody accounts. People wish death upon me and my family, threatening to hurt me if they ever see me. Wow... Even I am amazed by my resilience and courage lol.
Even so, I was still kinda surprised to see that Temasek Review, an extremist online publication biased towards the opposition, posted up 3 photos of Qiuqiu, Sophie and me taken during last year's rally on their facebook page, inviting their fans to write (mean) captions on us.
She then went on to screenshot and facebook-stalk her haters and called them out on her blog.

I laughed so hard at the things she posted and commented, it's a good thing my Dad is in the office, leaving me the freedom of laughing my head off without having to be asked to be quiet. I mean, seriously, the girl has some serious guts to do what she did! I have mad respect for her right now! Hahahahah!

She added her own comments to their comments, as you can see on the right in pink :)

I'm sorry, but the Ben Tan one was the funniest to me. Um, #burn much? Hahah!
And the Mr Too Ugly For A Profile Pic. LOL!

Remember I said she Facebook-stalked them? I wasn't kidding. She full-on stalked and saved the pictures of some of the haters. Oh gosh, I can't even....just go read it for yourself, it really is quite a good laugh. Where is the love?

I think people really need to stop hating on certain celebs...

    1. Kristen Stewart
Why I think haters should stop: First of all, you really can't deny the fact that the girl has pretty good acting chops (although I seriously did not like her in the first installment of Twilight). I mean, she's had three Young Artist Award nominations (she won the award the third time) before she even turned 20 years old. Next, I think she's finally becoming a good Bella in the Twilight Saga. I say finally because I thought the first movie was...not good but then the shows have gotten much better over the last three movies and I can't think of anyone else who could play a better Bella. Then again, that's just MY opinion. Plus, she nabbed Robert Pattinson! Aside from the messy hair that the two always have, I think they make a cute couple. They're always pictured so laid-back and casual and dressed down unlike most celebrities who look so damn good even when they're just running to the store to get some food or something. Those celebrities always make me want to raid their wardrobe. And so what if she has a frown/scowl/unsmiley face most of the time? Would YOU be smiling if you had the paparazzi on your tail 24/7?

2. Vanessa Hudgens
Why I think haters should stop: She was an awesome Gabriella. She's pretty and I love her fashion sense! To be more exact, I love her fashion sense during the years she was with Zac Efron (I really wish they'd get back together. Btw, I'm totally a Zanessa fan. Lol! But for real, it's like they struck gold in the genetic pool or smth. Their babies would've been gorgeousssss!). Her wardrobe (back then) is one that I would DEFINITELY want to raid! She's become so boho-chic, it just isn't really my cup of tea. Aside from that, despite what most people think, I think she isn't a bad singer. I mean come on, I've heard worse...hello, girls from Hot Problems. I definitely think she's a better singer than Ashley Tisdale (I have no hate for this girl, I just don't fancy her singing). She sings, she dances, she acts, she's got the face, the clothes...what's not to like?! She may not be the BEST actress but hey, Dianna Agron (again, no hate, I actually really like her) isn't the best either and people still love her
On a side note: I think she looks a bit like our local celeb, Marion Caunter in the picture above. Pretty!

How does one leave the Zac Efron for Austin Butler?? I don't even..I can't even..what was she thinking?!
Her face in the picture on the right = my face exactly when I look at the picture on the left.
Maybe, change of men is simultaneous to change of clothes...

           3. Miley Cyrus
Why I think haters should stop: Sorry but what exactly is there to hate?? I loved her in Hannah Montana. I proudly say that I watched the Hannah Montana Movie twice in the cinema and then bought the DVD after. Don't get all judgey on me! I happen to really really like Country music and I thoroughly enjoyed the Hoedown Throwdown number in the movie. Despite what many people think, this girl actually can sing. You just need to learn to appreciate a country voice like hers! And um, she has REALLY pretty hair! I love her hair. Love it, want it, wish I had it. Also, have you seen pictures of her lately?! Pilates and that gluten-free diet of hers is really doing wonders for her. It's crazy, she looks amazing now. AND, she's dating Liam Hemsworth. Need I say more? (Although maybe that's a reason to hate her right there...)

4. Lea Michele
Why I think haters should stop: Apart from her nose and her big mouth, I really don't see how people can not like her. She has a big amazing voice (which I absolutely adore) for someone so tiny! And as annoying as she is on Glee as Rachel, it just proves she's that good of an actress if she was able to pull it off for three seasons. Maybe it's because she's so good that people hate her.

5. Justin Bieber
Why I think haters should stop: I'm in no way a Belieber but at the same time, I don't hate the kid. I watched his videos on YouTube before he become this megastar and even back then I thought he had a good voice and could really sing. I remember watching one of his videos where he sang a song off one of the Hillsongs albums, I was impressed. And he was still really young in that video. People make jokes about him sounding like a girl but do they realize how old he was at the time One Less Lonely Girl and One Time came out? I think people tend to forget that celebrities are normal human beings just like us and that they go through puberty at different ages. I wonder if they're thinking differently now that the Biebs' voice has broken. And it doesn't hurt that he looks waaaay hotter now than he did when he was still flipping his hair all over the place. Plus, I think it's really nice when celebrities speak out about their faith.

This Week in Insta

It's been a while since I last posted my week in Insta. Been a bit too lazy to transfer pictures from my phone to my laptop, to be honest. Alas, I finally did and while my phone is on "finishing sync" mode, I shall blog :) And who knew choosing between studying French and Spanish could be such a tough decision to make?! I mean seriously, I've never actually Googled a subject just to see which one of the two would be more beneficial and useful. I guess when you're given a load of five subjects to ace in the span of four months, the serious-factor of everything goes up a level. Pictures after the jump!

Tele-Talk: Grey's Fan Commentary

So it's 5pm on a Sunday and I'm sitting at home in front of my laptop going through Tumblr. How boring can my days get around here.. That's besides the point of my post today. As I said, I was going through my Tumblr dashboard and I decided to search for "Lexie Grey" and "Grey's Anatomy" posts knowing that there'd be lots of posts/comments about the recent episode. True enough, there were plenty. And some people had funny comments that I just have to mention.

Just so you know, Chyler Leigh is the actress who plays Lexie Grey in the show.

I edited out the names on the top of each conversation bubble just to give the bloggers/writers/authors/commentators/whatever-you-wanna-call-em a bit more privacy. I know this post brings zero meaning to most of you but for the minority who do watch Grey's, don't you find these comments funny or am I the only one who thinks so? That was a rhetorical question, don't answer that.

Tele-Talk: Grey's Anatomy Season 8 Finale

I just finished watching the final episode of season 8 of Grey's Anatomy. I've actually put off watching it for a few days now after I didn't like what I read online about the finale. But I finally did and I am not happy! Quite torn actually. SO much emotion in one episode...

Dear Miss Shonda Rhimes,

Why do you always have to play with your viewers hearts like this? I'm starting to wonder if the Seattle Grace-Mercy West Hospital surgeons will EVER catch a break. They work so hard and fight through heartbreak all season and you decide to repay them by sending them off to heaven one by one. Are we ever going to get a season where our favourite attendings/surgeons actually LIVE to reach their happily ever after?

Today, I was the saddest I have ever been while watching Grey's Anatomy when you up and killed Dr Lexie Grey. My heart broke alongside Dr Mark Sloan when he finally told her he loves her (yeah, screw you, Julia!) and said that they were meant to be (yes, they so are) and that they would get married and give Sophia a couple of siblings (I really wanted to see this next season!). My eyes welled up with tears that eventually went running over my cheeks as Mark closed Lexie's eyes and Meredith cried over her sister's death. I am not ashamed to say that I was slightly happy at Dr Christina Yang's discovery of Mark nearly dying because that would only mean I wouldn't have to sit through a season watching one half of my favourite couple on Grey's mourn his loss and possibly fall in love again and have kids with someone else. I was almost happy again when Dr Sloan mentioned to Arizona how Lexie was waiting for him and that he would be okay until Arizona had to remind him (and me) that he has a baby daughter waiting for him to go home, alive. I cannot even begin to comprehend how sad I will be next season knowing that Meredith's younger sister will not be walking the halls of SGMW Hospital.
There have been bombings, shootings, bus crashes and a continuous string of family members of the surgeons who you have sadly killed off in the hospital. How much heartbreak are you going to put us through? I shall take this opportunity to also mention that I really liked Henry. Why did he have to go? :'( His marriage to Teddy was so short-lived, I wish Dr Altman never married him. It would've saved us all the crazy emotion!

Between my tears and my repeated cries of "No! Don't die!" today, I am relieved that Christina, Meredith and Derek are still alive. It's not that I'm not happy that all Arizona got was a broken bone and a busted face and the pilot, Jerry is alive though he's paralyzed from now on, I just don't care for them as much as I care for the original three, and Mark.

Meredith and Derek can NOT die, do you hear me, Shonda Rhimes?! Neither of them can die!! Well, actually since Meredith is the title character, I know she can't really die so I shall rephrase and say Dr Derek Shepherd can NOT in any means die!!! I cannot fathom Zola growing up without her superstar neurosurgeon father and Meredith raising her on her own. You have put them through so much just to be able to keep Zola, you can't possibly deprive baby Zola of a parent yet again. Derek dying would be just as sad as Lexie being crushed under the wing of the plane (still so sad).

If it was possible to go into severe depression from watching a TV show, this one would definitely do it. You make us find room in our hearts for the characters only to rip them straight out once they're carefully snuggled up and warm. Why, why, WHY!?

Despite all the pain and sorrow in the final episode, I want to thank you for not killing Christina's humour. She was the only who made me laugh throughout the ordeal. Come to think of it, Christina always has the best lines. Callie and Bailey have some pretty awesome one-liners too. I like them. Don't kill them.
Meredith: Where's Derek and Lexie?
Christina: I don't...I don't know, I lost a shoe.
Meredith: Where is she?!?!
Christina: I DON'T KNOW! I ONLY HAVE ONE SHOE!
Christina: I found it!!
Arizona: The first aid kit?
Christina: No! My shoe!
Speaking of Christina...Please just put her and Owen Hunt back together already. Let them finally reunite and ride off into the sunset, away from the hospital-of-impending-doom. In fact if you ask me, all the  surgeons should just pack up and get the heck out of Seattle Grace-Mercy West ASAP if they know what's good for them, if they want to live.

I end this letter by sincerely asking you, Ms Shonda Rhimes to please, please stop killing off my favourite characters. This 20 year-old series-junkie can't take anymore shock from you next season!

Sincerely,
Deeply emotional Mark-Lexie shipper.

*Btw, if you're wondering who Shonda Rhimes is, she's the mind behind Grey's Anatomy.*

Fashion File: CW Upfronts 2012

Time for my Best Dressed list once again! I like looking at pretty things, pretty clothes and pretty people. Don't you? ;) So here's some of those at the recent CW Upfronts Presentation in New York.

Nina Dobrev in Dolce&Gabanna is on the top of my Best Dressed list for the event.
So simple and yet so chic. Perfect.

Anna Sophia Robb in an alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet dress and YSL heels gets the no.2 spot.
The whole look gives off such a sweet summery feel, I can't help but like it.

However, she gets the win for After Party attire! I LOVE glittery/sparkly dresses!

Looking at Jessica Stroup in this pink and orange outfit makes me happy cause aside from glitter, I love bright colours. I also love her fun-print shoes!

She also gets on my best dressed list for the After Party. You can't really ever go wrong with black.

Shenae Grimes looking good in the blazer and printed shorts combo.
That's what I would wear if I were to be super-rich, a superstar and if I had a head full of hair like hers.

And last but not least, Jessica Lowndes in a sweet LBD (I told you you can't go wrong with black). I like the pop of colour on her feet!

Up all night

Semester 1 mid-term tests are OVER! :) Only two weeks till I get to spend a full week back home on the island. I honestly can't wait to breathe Penang air and see trees everywhere again and meet up with friends and be around family and eat yummy Penang food and cut my hair. It's not that it's so horribly boring here in KL..it's just, different.

I've  actually been pretty occupied here lately. I really thank God for all the friends (new and old) He's given me here. If it wasn't for them I think I'd be stuck at home all day every day. Although I have actually been stuck at home the past week, forcing myself to sit and study.

If it wasn't for Philippians 4:13 (I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.), I think I wouldn't have been able to not fall sick these past few weeks. Two weeks ago, I was surrounded by sick people. And when I say "sick" I mean health-wise and not in the mind. I mean like, I visited Sharon in the hospital everyday she was in there, brought Ming Yen to see the doctor and found out she had the mild version of what Sharon was down with and then I carted a flu-ey Andrew around with me for dinner meet ups with the rest of the guys. I guess getting my tonsils out really does have it's benefits cause I was pretty certain that I was going to catch a cough or flu or something after all that interaction with the "germified". Lol. I kept praying and telling God that if I was going to be sick, please let it be AFTER my mid-terms. I think if I had fallen sick, I would've completely tanked my papers.

I keep talking about Uni, have you seen my pretty campus yet? :) I snapped a couple of photos the other day while I was walking back to my car. It was a pretty day and there weren't throngs of people parading around the waterfront, it was almost perfect.

New look!

I know I didn't finish the A-Z Challenge. I missed out on the last three alphabets. X, I deliberately left out because the only thing that came to mind when I thought of X was X-Men. Y and Z I totally forgot about because I was too busy with my own stuff and by the time I remembered, it was too late. And I also know I've totally skipped out on "My Insta-Week" posts but in my defense, I've been busy with uni and assignments (okay so it's just ONE assignment so far) and I've got mid-terms coming up this week. I shouldn't even be here right now but because my brain needs a break from Creative & Critical Thinking anyway, I decided to give my blog a makeover with much thanks and credit to my eldest sister! She designed the (very cute) header and background that you are now going to stare at and admire. Btw, Jie if you're reading this, your name is credited at the bottom of the page :)

Alright, that's it for me right now. I'll blog more once my exams are done. Can't let this pretty page go to waste now, can I? ;)
